Training Days at Cromartie
Training dates for 2010- 15th September, 17th November
Cromartie training days are for anyone thinking about setting up a ceramic café or mobile paint-a-pot studio. You don’t need to have any ceramic experience and there is no obligation and no commitment on the day - just a chance to come along and see if it is for you. We hold the training in our own Paint A Pot studio here in Stoke-on-Trent where we have a large party room, a children’s soft play area and painting and café space. We have put a lot of effort into the design of the studio in order to provide a source of ideas for newcomers to the business. All of the colours, glazes and bisque we sell are on show together with a huge array of fired samples. We’ll refresh you at lunch time with a delicious buffet.
Training days are about the ceramic business, rather than for learning new painting techniques, however you will spend sufficient time painting a piece for you to become familiar with the way the colour and glaze works. Your completed piece will be fired and posted on to you.
The aim of the day is to equip new and potential ceramic business owners with the knowledge to use the materials and operate the kiln as well as providing information the business and marketing aspects of running a studio. By the end of the day you will have enough knowledge to get you started. Of course we offer back up support over the phone and can visit to run chargeable training days in your own studio if required.
