Alison Morgan

Alison moved to Stoke-on-Trent to study ceramics in 1971 where she remained to pursue a career in the subject. She has a degree in ceramics and has presented seminars throughout the UK and Europe for over twenty years. Formerly a Duncan Ambassador, Alison holds the prestigious ‘Erma Duncan Award’.

She is the curator of The Dudson Museum in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent which houses the Dudson ceramics collection in a specially converted, listed bottle kiln. The museum also traces the history of the company from 1800 to the present day. Today, Dudson make tableware for the hospitality industry with customers such as Disney, Starbucks and The Orient Express. Alison’s passion for ceramics embraces many aspects of the craft. She has designed and produced limited edition art pottery for the museum shop and following intensive research into the subject, she co-wrote Dudson Staffordshire Figures. Published last year, the book provides a fascinating insight into a popular, nineteenth century art form.
